On JSA (IB) but now been signed off sick

Have been on JSA for nearly a year but on Saturday my GP signed me off sick with depression. As far as I can see from what I have read I need to apply for ESA now. However, I am not sure where to send my sick certificate or even if I need one for the first seven days as I remember you could self cert for the first 7 days then had to provide a certificate, but that might have just applied when I was employed.
I am due to sign on Tuesday but dont want to really wait until then to find out what I should do. Does anyone know the procedure I should now follow please? I will try and get through on the phone to ask tomorrow but Mondays are so busy, thats why I decided to ask here.
Many thanks.

The best course of action will be to wait until Tuesday, it's not that far away. Sit down with your advisor and explain what is happening and ask for advice, they should be able to tell you everything you need to know.0
