is this letter an empty threat
hi,
just got this letter at the weekend from sgma/creation who i have written to, to tell them my situation and offered them token payments, this is until i get my IVA set up. the letter said that they would be sending one of their representitves to call at my house since i have not been in contact with them and if this was not suitable for me to phone them, which i don't want to do. do you think its an empty threat??

When my IVA was being set up I had a number of these letters from a couple of my creditors I just ignored them and never got a visit, they are usually a ruse to get you to ring them. And if they do send someone round (which is highly unlikely) these people have no powers! so just tell them to go away or don't answer the door.:laugh:Free at last0

Morning,
DH and I have had lots of these letters too and as yet they have not visited our home.
I've just been having a root round the web but I'm sure I read somewhere once that they can't actually do this if you've told them you will only deal with the situation in writing.
Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will be along soon, but definitely I wouldn't overly worry - like I say, no one's rocked up at our house yet after years of threats.
(Which will hopefully soon stop as we're in the middle of sorting out an IVA too)
They're meant to panic you and like is said above, get a rise out of you. Ignore it, and ignore the door too IF (and that's a huuuuuuge IF) they should turn up.When looking at the climb in front of you, don't forget to look back once in a while and see how far you have come:j
and remember...
All the worrying in the world won't change anything...so breathe:beer:0 -
