Employers and workplaces have cover for public and employee liability. Why bother to ignore that fact? If people dont claim, employers will continue to employ dangerous work practices. That's not right.

Leaving aside the fact that I doubt increased claim numbers lead to safer working environments, who do you think is paying for all of this? Certainly not the insurance companies or these negligent employers. Increased claim numbers merely lead to higher premiums. No profit-making organisation will see its profits dip due to higher costs; nor will companies risk reducing the quality of their service or product. Instead they'll simply afford fewer pay rises to their employees. So everyone suffers.

Why do you think car insurance premiums are rising so dramatically? It's due to personal injury claims. Apparently the number of whiplash claims is so high that there are now three whiplash claims per reported accident. Work that one out. They simply get paid with no quibble by the insurers because they can't be bothered to argue and they know it won't cost them anything in the long term - they'll just hike the premiums for everyone. Great.
