Picassa as default

I have set Picassa as my default for photos in new laptop but my photos are still being duplicated by Windows media in my pictures. I do not want to have two sets of photos, one in picassa and the other in my pictures. What am I doing wrong? I prefer Picassa asI have more options to play with them. Thanks

to remove them from media player you have to remove the my pictures folder from the pictures library click 'organize > manage libraries > pictures'
but it wont do your media any harm to have them just displayed in media player as yu say picassa is default so if you open a picture on your computer it will open in picassa
if you are saying you dont want the pictures to be in the my pictures user area folder (start > *username* > my pictures) then that would actually delete them from your computer full stop as that is where pictures are stored.0
