dla reconsideration

when asking for a reconsideration of a dla claim does it have to be looked at by a different dicision maker? or can the same one do a reconsideration?

It gets looked at by another DM, of course they could come back with exactly the same answer.*SIGH*

I sent a letter asking for reconsideration and received a decision within 4 weeks of sending it. Time scale for this may vary but I'm glad I wrote asking if they would consider looking at my claim again. That was my experience.0

It is good practice for another DM to look at the claim and it usually is another one but not in every case; there is nothing that states that a different DM must perform the reconsideration.0
