Help with dispute.

I opened an unpaid item dispute buyer has responded but it doesn't look like they are going to pay. Am I still entitled to my FVF back even though they have responded and if they neg me will it stand as they replied through the dispute console. The deadline for them to reply was tomorrow. I have said I am happy to agree to not complet transaction. I have said if they select this option I will do so at my end and close the dispute - is this right. Can they select this option.

Comments

  • There are two options. Choose either:

    a) We've agreed not to complete the transaction.
    b) I no longer wish to communicate with or wait for the buyer.

With option a, the buyer won't receive an unpaid item strike but you will receive your FVF and a relist credit.

With option b, the buyer receives an unpaid item strike and you will receive your FVF and a relist credit.

However, as the buyer has responded to the dispute they are entitled to leave feedback.

Do I have to select 'we've agreed not to complete the transaction' first or can the buyer select it first at their end.
  • I believe that you have to choose that option first and then eBay email the buyer who has to choose that option as well.

Have you both actually agreed not to complete the transaction?

I personally wouldn't recommend that option.

I agree with razorblade on this, if you give them the option of a mutual then they can refuse to tick the right box and you lose your FVFs. If you needed to start an NPB on a buyer they might be looking for revenge now and suggesting a mutual to get themselves off scott free. Opting for mutual closure gives you the seller no advantage at all.

Tomorrow I can close the dispute and they will get a strike, I know if they neg me their comment will remain but will the neg rating remain as well because they responded during the dispute.
  • Yes as they responded to the dispute whatever feedback rating they leave will remain. If they do leave negative feedback just leave a factual reply.
