I popped in to a "yummy mummy" run craft fair this morning. Heh, overpriced and pretentious. I bought nothing but some chocolate buttons from a vending machine0

Afternoon, all!
Just back from an epic charity shop in West Bromwich. It's amazing that the poorer the place the better the standard of second hand finds, two Jean Muirs and a rare early 1970's Laura Ashley (with the desirable Made in Wales label) plus an amazing vintage Richard Draper full length grey sheepskin coat to name but a few finds. :j
Currently wearing:
1960's White nylon !!!!!bow blouse (Jumble sale 20p)
High waisted acid wash skinny jeans (Factory sample £2)
Vintage knee-high suede lace-up boots (Car boot sale £1)
1970's grey felt wide bim hat (Car boot sale 40p)
1960's pale pink wool coat (Courtesy of the fabulous Christina)
Chilling out with the Guardian and a film this afternoon. We're out at 6pm this evening, it involves a mile long walk and being outside...what the heck do I wear on my feet? Hate being practical!0 -
Jealous of the laura Ashley goan!
Just about to head out for a trawl round the charity shops, finally finished unpacking all my new things from
the last couple of days..outfit is now:
floral print ra-ra layered dress, originallly river island (as I saw it in there in the sale last wk) but I got it from new life for a few ££s
woolen tights, oxblood colour, peacocks
dark green cardi with dog print, laura ashley
and some grey boots from primark, bought yday since I'd worn out
my irregular choice ones :-/0 -
Goan, i have a Laura ashley dress that has the 'made in wales' label on too, bought from a car boot for 50p, it's one of my favourites and i have worn it loads. Does having that label make it more desirable??
Wearing black mock wrapover dress(calvin klein, via tk maxx an age ago) Purple vest, purple tights and vintage silk neck scarf and mousey slippers, not looking too bad for actioning domestic chores!!
Walked the dogs earlier and i am not a happy bunny, some idiot never picked up their dogs !!!!!! and i now have it over my waterproof jacket and wellies, the little one musta have been rolling in it, then transferred it over to me:( She's been bathed an looks like a wags dog, but i don't know what to do about my jacket? Any ideas folks?? Should i let it dry then scrape it off (sorry) or stick it straight in the washing machine (euww)??
Sharron xSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -

Eeek! Bad news about the jacket. If it were me I'd scrape it off first. Do you use washing powder? Try mixing it to a thick paste with water and applying it direct to the dirty area, leave it for 30 mins then bung it all in the washer.
The Laura Ashley, Made In Wales were her original creations when they were a family business operating from the cottage kitchen so yes, far more desirable. I bought a beauty from a car boot sale for 5p a couple of years ago and sold it for £70!!!0 -

Blimey £70 the stuff i could get from the carboot with that:D But i adore the dress, *sighs deeply*... What year would that be from then??
Thanks Vix :A have actioned that, dh scraped it off ( i couldn't stomach it, funny if it was MY dogs mess, it wouldn't have been a problem) i mixed daz with a bit of water and applied it with a lolly stick (double euww) and threw it into the machine on a 60 degrees. I wouldn't mind but the Jacket cost around £250 4 years ago (actually it cost more, i put it on my credit card:o) and i will never in my life spend that much on anything, ever, full stop. If it was a couple of pounds second hand i would have binned it, honestly it was that bad.
Catching up on telly tonight, spooks, kirsty's handmade home, something about the high street, all with a nice bottle of cheap wine:)
