Fuel stations across the boarder

I used this website in the summer & found it useful. There were some big differences in prices where we were looking. It's only good if people can be bothered to report prices though.0

I drive on past the 3/4 filling stations in Bridgend and continue about 2/3 miles to Callaghans filling station in Burt. It is usually about 2-3 pence a litre cheaper for diesel than the filling stations in Bridgend and I also find it is better to pay in sterling as they give quite a good rate. I filled my car about a month ago and it was working out about 15p a litre cheaper (diesel) than the North. Not sure of the petrol prices though.0

Does anyone share my concerns about buying diesel in border areas?0

True, but I'm informed the border area is particularly risky - I stick to the large retailers, while there is a debate about supermarket fuel, you won't get acid washed diesel there. I'd rather pay a few pence per litre more that risk wrecking an engine!0

I and the rest of my family have been using Callaghans for years with no problems. It's an established station with a large motor parts shop attached so you should have no worries there.0

If an engine seizes up because there's not enough oil in it, how can that be blamed on the diesel? That's not where the oil comes from!
Anyway, Asda is £1.13.9 for a litre at the mo for petrol, so even if you're across the border, doesn't seem to be worth it for petrol.0 -
Not the oil you put in yourself, the oil in the fuel. If the diesel is laundered it removes the natural oil/lubricant in the fuel.0
