I am writing in connection with the request for credit of funds on closure of a store account with Santander.
I sent a letter dated 12th September 2010 to close my account withm House of Fraser under the umbrella of Santander. I gave bank details for a credit of over £173 to be paid into. I received a letter from Santander dated 20th September 2010 in which they confirm closure of the account and re-imbursement by separate cover (al beit I gave them account details in which to credit the reimbursement).
On 5th October I spoke to their overseas call centre in India asking what had happened to the cheque. I was promptly told that an administration error had occurred and that a cheque would be issued and I would receive that in 12 days. I did say that this was unacceptable as in this day and age it does not take 12 days.
Today, (16th October) I have again rang the call centre to ask what has happened to the cheque that was supposed to have been raised on 5th October only to be told that there had been an administration error and a cheque HAD been raised today – how co-incidental! – and that it would take 12 days.
I am very frustrated that nothing appears to be forthcoming. I wouyld greatly appreciate your advice or any help in this matter.
Very best wishes
