Bought today and I'm having trouble getting my existing I-tunes Library onto my new I-phone.I have looked on the I-tunes help/knowledge base and also for threads on here but i'm at a loss.

Any help would be much appreciated ,so to sum up......

New I-phone and want to get all the music from my I-tunes Library(linked to my Nano) onto my new I-phone.

Just to say all of my purchased music from I-tunes is I-tunes+ so no copyright problems...

  • Should be as simple as drag and drop. What's going wrong?

Hi Scottishblonde, Thanks for replying, my problem is I have one window(page) with my existing Library on and a seperate Library page for my new I-phone.Not sure how I can drag and drop when each page is a full page and wont reduce down..

If I plug in my gen 2 nano that library pops up but if I plug in the new I-phone that Library pops up. Is it something to do with "Export Library" on.............

Edit: Fianlly I think I may have done it..........On the syncronise page I just clicked the "Sync entire Library"and its syncing all the music.......... Fingers crossed.....

you dont have to make a new library for a new device at all

    just close all itunes windows
    then open itunes once
(if you are not going to put all your music on your iphone do this bit) make a new playlist called, say, iPhone
then plug in your new iphone
click on it on the left hand menu
    click on the music tab
and then select 'sync certain playlists' and select the iphone playlist.
    click 'apply' at the bottom
    and you're done

if you buy more music you want on the iphone just drag the songs from the main library to the iphone playlist.
