I think the answer is quite simply that you haven't paid enough yet to take a month off the mortgage. How much is your monthly mortgage payment - once you have overpaid by that amount it will def. knock a month off the payback date, in reality it will take less than 1 month's payment due to interest saved, but with only £600 overpaid it's probably not enough yet.
Keep going though - there will be a magical time when you will op by £10 and it will knock a whole month off :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hey Kola, I love our house so much (not tonight as the carpet is killing me!!) thanks, makes it so worth it.
Rosie, the chickens are easy flippin peasy. Basically, the guy we bought the house from had a fish pond with like a stone waterfall type thing. We dug out the pond and replaced it with a hen house bought from ebay. Quite a nice wooden one as we've made a feature of it. Then we incorporated the waterfall thing and our garden wall into our run. Basically, the run is either nailed (v v v v securely) to the wall, or dug abut 18" into the ground. We worked really hard on this, making a frame of wood and using heavy weight, narrow gauge wire to make sure it was absolutely secure top sides and bottom as we have kites and foxes which would gobble them up.
Then, we got our girls (4) and put them in there! As long as they have plenty of food (we use layers pellets as well as left over roast tatties and oopsie salad & veg from Mr T) they will eat almost anything! And lots of water, we leave them to it. They put themselves to bed and get up in the morning, lay us 4 eggs a day, one of them lays double yolkers and generally entertain us!
I would highly recommend it, as long as you can give them a category A secure run!!
Right, I must paint this skirting board and see if I can get some ironign done.
OH back tomorrow eve and I want him to relax!0 -

We are quite lucky that on the one side, we have no-one except some horses (and a deer) on the other side there is an old gent who has a garden sort of terraced below ours so we're not overlooked. All that and the M40 is about 500m away!! (Up a big hill so can hardly hear it but close enough for me to be able to commute to lots of different places).
We keep them squeaky clean so as not to attract anything gobbly and obviously it's good for them and they don't smell either.0 -
OH is almost home, I've swept outside, put all the old carpet in the shed, swept and mopped through, finished the ironing and supper is ready to go in the oven! Phew! I'm hoping to surprise him with the work I've done.
Also have an extra shift of pt job so pleased with that although when it arrives I'll be annoyed I don't have the afternoon off!!!0
