Bathroom window back to front?

I had a new bathroom window fitted yesterday and I think the glass has been put in back to front. As far as I am aware the patterned pane should be in the inside but on mine it is on the outside. Is this a problem e.g. does it make them more transparent? Should I get them back to reverse them or doesn't it make any real difference?

I didnt know there was a patterned side and a plain side. All the ones that we have had have had patterned panes on both sides.

It wouldnt make any difference transparency wise and as long as you are happy with it then its not a a problem.
Why dont you ring them and ask.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I've just checked and mines on the inside. I can't see it making any difference to be honest.

dirt might catch in the pattern and over time might look dirty , thats the only thing i can think of .

Is one toughened and one safety ..That would make a difference if the wrong way round.. that is assuming it is double glazed.

I was told when we had double glazing fitted last year that double glazed units nowadays have one pane which is low emission glass, this is clear glass and should be on the inside of the window, therefore if there are patterned glass units the pattern will be the outside pane, though the pattern side of the glass will be on the inside of the actual double glazed unit so externally the glass will be smooth.

Our bathroom windows and the front door have the pattern on the outside pane.

When you say pattern, do you mean flowers or other designs done in 'lead'? If so, they go on the outside.

  • I had double glazing fitted 2 weeks ago and on the bathroom window the pattern is on the outside. The previous window that it replaced had the pattern on the inside.

Never actually noticed until I read this thread!
