yes kiwik fit are crap but the cover is provided by CALL ASSIST so kwik fit have nothing to do with any breakdowns
the same recovery operators used also work for Green Flag, Equity, Britannia Rescue and so on Kwik Fit is only a branding

are there any different call handlers or is it all the same call centre and fleet? if its same people / same call centre and fleet then it doesnt make too much difference.

calls taken by KF call staff then details emailed to CALL ASSIST many insurance based breakdown policies work this way

yes i agree kf are sh1te but the breakdown cover is insanely cheap and has almost nothing to do with kf apart from branding and Call Assist taking money from kf customers

Their Quote page is very similar to GreenFlag aswell.. kind of gives the game away.

AutoAid. £37 a year to cover you driving any car, and it covers your spouse / legal partner as well. That's full cover - home, roadside, recovery, onward journey. I don't think anything else comes close, short of using Tesco vouchers to pay for AA or RAC.

The only slight downside is that if you break down, they despatch a local garage ( they don't have their own fleet ), you pay the breakdown man directly then claim it back ( you need to keep the receipt ). If you always carry a credit card with you then it's no issue - I used them recently, the girl at their control centre was really professional and when I sent my claim in, I got a cheque back within a few days, no questions or arguing.

We use Tesco vouchers once a year to get the RAC cover.

I suspect Kwik Fit just outsource to a local recovery firm, just like every other breakdown provider that isn't the AA or RAC, however I am just trying to imagine it if they did run their own trucks.

"Hi, I've had a puncture and this car doesn't come with a spare"
"No problem, we'll send out a driver with a tyre, the tyre will be a Linglong and costs £60"
    *driver arrives, removes wheel*
*sucks through teeth* "Those brake discs look pretty worn. I'd replace those before you drive any further, if you like I can replace them now at the same time and save you 20 quid, that'll be £270 including the tyre"
*10 minutes of high pressure sales tactics, followed by a half hour job stretched out to two hours later*
*hands over chip+pin machine* "That'll be £317.25 please"
    "What? you said £270"
"Yeah, that didn't include the VAT"
  • avoid quik fit..they ruined my car
