What basic bank accounts work with Paypal?

I want to open a bank account to work with a second Paypal account. I already have a Personnel Paypal account set up with my current account. I have just opened a Premier Paypal account and tried to link it to my Yorkshire Building Society Cash Transactor account but although it it a 'basic' account that allows direct debits Paypal says it isn't suitable as it can't do it electronically? I do not want to open another 'full' Current Account as I do not think I will meet the minimum funding requirements. Will a basic bank account with a debit card work, my YBS account does not have this feature and they are not a clearing bank. What type of accounts does everyone use? Thanks in advance.
