I have a Dell inspiron with windows Vista. I did a system restore last night (because it asked me to) and it restarted to yesterday morning, all my documents are now gone but I know they are there somewhere because i was in recycling bin and restored some stuff. It said restoring to (eg music) but when I went into music it was empty so the files must be there.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to find them.

It depends on how the restoration was done. If it was a restore to factory restoration, your files are gone. If you've been able to restore some files they will be in a different folder to your current user one, even if you used the same name. Open up Windows Explorer, click on the C drive, go to the Users folder and you'll see the folders for each individual user account in there (documents, music etc). Have a hunt through those.
Another option is restoring them from the backups you have.0 -
It wasn't a factory restore. When it finished it told me it was restored to 9:32 (or something) on the 14th october 2010 and I now cant seem to find my documents
I'll try going onto windows explorer.
