After spending several hours trying to sort out my lack of internet, I finally found that by rolling back to a few days ago (before a host of windows updates were installed),it now works perfectly!
Has anybody else had this problem??

Is there anyone else out there that has had this problem?
  • Don't think so. But I would check to see if it's not malware.

    Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 - FileHippo.com
Download and Install. Then UPDATE tab, CHECK FOR UPDATES, run a full scan. Remove everything it finds and post log here.

Possibly but you have to give everyone a chance , What version of Windows have you got XP/Vista(yuk)/Windows 7 . Also to help us what are other symptoms have you got (other than lack of access of Interweb thingy) ie any messages. My wife says she can't access the internet either, but that is because because I have deleted her :D
Sorry for the joke, but information is more important in this age of information.

  • I had the same problem on my laptop and also ended up having to roll back to a few days prior to the update.

In my case, it was a problem with the wireless connection and, after trauling the internet and varies official MS articles on the subject, I came to the same solution as you and rolled back to before the updates.

Interestingly, MS blamed mainly the router and then possibly wireless adapter in the PC, never their own updates. Funny then, that I could still connect wirelessly to my faulty router with my iPhone

I disabled my Windows Automatic updates as every time the laptop updated it crashed!

Done as you said, here is the log but everything seems clean. I am running XP professional by the way with sp3.
