Dell pre installed Office 2010 refund

I wonder if anyone knows my rights when returning software?

Previously I've bought 10 PC's for work with Office 2007 including Business Contact Manager through Dell. Now we have purchased 5 more PC's. They've sent Office 2010 with these, which is fine, but when the PC's arrived they don't come with Business Contact Manager.

On speaking to Dell, they don't do the version of Office 2010 we need, so I will have to purchase elsewhere. But they won't refund us the versions of Office we have. They are saying as its pre installed on the PC and we have accepted the quote they sent, they can't refund it.

This doesn't sound right to me? Can anyone advise.

Thanks

When it comes to business customer services, Dell are normally very good! (It's their personal computer customer services that sucks, as they don't seem to care much about that side of their business!).

Rowdybeans, was "Business Contact Manager" listed in the quote? Did you look up what came with the 2010 package?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Rowdybeans, you have agreed to buy something and have now discovered you have bought the wrong thing.

    Is that a fair assessment?

I am pretty sure b2b transactions do not have the same protection that consumers do... but please chack on this.
  • I spoke to Dell on the phone when making the order and told him we wanted the same products as the previous 10 PC's. Hardware was the same, only difference now it would have Windows 7 and Office 2010. I didn't check the version as I presumed it would be the same as the version of 2007 we had before.

Isn't BCM a free download for Outlook 2010?

You really should know though if you're spending someone elses money.
