I've been thinking about getting a new bed for some time now and it has now gotten to the point we need a new one.
We waken up everyday with aches and pains in our shoulders, backs, hips, ribs, legs, everywhere really lol our current mattress is just too firm for us and too old. my partner also wakes with numb hands and then pins and needles in them.
we've been in and out of bed shops and what we like varies between memory foam and latex both always with pocket springs and usually medium feel (not too soft not too firm), but depends on each individual bed. Which of the 2 is better for wakening pain free?
We both sleep on our side the majority of the night, dont know if that makes a difference.
What does anyone think of these that I've been looking at online?

Thank you in advance

Hi. I have PM'ed you, but for anyone else wondering. I bought the la Romantica Venice about 6 months ago and love it. I no longer wake up with any pains, and it is like sleeping on a very supportive, but strangely soft cloud.
I bought it from !!!!!! beds. They are an online company only, but do offer a money back trial of 14 days. I think you would definitely be in love with it within a few days, so you would easily know within 2 weeks if the bed was right for you or not.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

:)Thank you for the reply rosie, I pm'd you back asking if the mattress is soft or medium in your opinion (incase anyone else is wondering)
Also I dont know the technical name for it, but on the top of the mattress that has those button things stitched causing denty bits on the mattress, can you feel these?
Did you get climasmart? if so is it stitched on with the button things too?
Anyone who knows about beds, How do these stitched buttons not damage the memory foam? sorry dont know anything about beds and how they are made as you can tell0 -
just to add why do some mattress's have these buttons and some are completely flat?0

Its just a style thing really, its called tufted like when u see "hand tufted" thats what it is tho mostly done by machine nowadays and tbh i dont think their is a difference really between hand or machine made bits.0

Actually it's part of the structure of the mattress, and nothing to do with styling. With a deep quilted mattress layers of quilting are sewn to the outer fabric, which stops them moving about. With a tufted mattress the quilting is held in place by the tufts. This allows for deeper quilting than other methods. With pocket sprung mattresses the hand tufting is part of the structure of the mattress, which helps to stop the springs going like dominos.
If it says hand tufting, then it should be done by hand. Once the mattress has been assembled it is clamped tight in a frame. Then it is turned horizontal, and the tufts are inserted using a long needle (by hand, which is why it is called hand tufting).
With a good quality mattress you shouldn't notice the tufts.0 -
Funnily enough, you can see where the buttons are, even with a mattress protector and a sheet on the bed. It is obvious where they are as you can see the dents. Even though you can see them, you don't really feel them when you are lying in the bed. And if you do feel them, it is not uncomfortable at all. The same sort of thing as if you are sitting on a sofa with buttons along the back. You can see them, but not really feel them when you are sitting on it.
And we did get climasmart and it is really just the top cover of the mattress. It's not separate in any way. Haven't had any sweaty nights yet really, so I suppose it must work.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Can you wait til the Boxing Day sales? Last year a bought a good quality double bed from John Lewis for only £280.April 2017 wins: Jawbreaker singlet £20,
May 2017 wins: Joe Brown cardigan £350 -
I use a spare duvet under the fitted sheet. It provides a comfy surface to lie on.
Saves storage space, too.0 -
Has anyone had any dealings with http://www.mattressnextday.co.uk/
?
I am looking for a new mattress as I have the same ache problems as the OP. The mattresses look very reasonable, I am looking at a pocket sprung one for about £200 (don't like memory foam types).
Just went to Bensons and Dreams but both have appalling customer service records (and higher prices!) so I think I will give them both a miss.
Thanks for any advice - other places to get mattresses with good customer service would be welcome.0 -
