How long?

How long does it take for a claim for CTC and WTC to be processed?
We sent the form back to them twi weeks ago (we don't currently claim anything other than CB as this is our first child) and haven't heard anything back from them to even say that they've received the form.
Do you think I should chase yet or is it normal to not have any acknowledgement?
Thanks in advance.

Honest answer is 'how long is a piece of string'? If your child benefit is in place already hopefully a month to 6 weeks.
If you posted your form 2 weeks ago it will have taken a week to 10 days to be put on the system, so your unlikely to hear anything yet. As far as I'm aware tc don't acknowledge receipt of forms or letters, they will only contact you if they need more information or to send you your award notice.
Personally I'd ring at the point that its been a month since you sent the forms in.
Get used to hearing the line "I'm sorry we have no time scales". You will hear it alot!0 -
I've been waiting 4 months, don't get your hopes up.0
