Worth getting Halifax Clarity with 21.9% APR?

Hello All,

I'm travelling to South Africa in December and applied for a Halifax Clarity card as recommended in the Money Saving Expert travel section. I've been accepted but have been offered a card with an APR of 21.9% rather than the 12.9% that is offered. Not sure why, as I don't have any debts or anything that would affect my credit rating as far as I'm aware.

My question is: is getting the Clarity card still the best deal, even if the APR is 21.9%, or would I be better looking for another deal?

How quickly are you going to pay it off?
What amount of interest does that relate to?
What are the costs that you're pattern of cash withdrawal will incurr on other cards?

Ideally going to pay it off in full each month, but there may be times when this isn't feasible. I'd try to pay off as much as I can.
I don't currently have any other cards, this will be the first.
