help with childcare and tax credits

i reported to tax credits on tuesday that i had changed jobs, childcare provider and childcare costs had reduced !!!
in the past when childcare costs go down , you automatically get a four week run on because we are paid in arrears for childcare (so they tell me)....
anyway rang them this morning and they have reduced my tax credits immediatly to show my new dhildcare costs.....
have they changed the way childcare is paid to us... or could it be because i changed childcare provider ????
thanks in advance for any help !!
