in Credit cards
Hey - Just looking for some help; Basically I don't currently have a credit card but I am looking to get one as a way of improving my credit scoring?
I am 23, working full time on a decent salary, I am getting married in December so was hoping to use the credit card to pay for larger items and then pay it off in full.
I had applied online for a halifax credit card (where i currently bank) but was rejected. I have only been with that bank since May, and I moved to a new flat in June which I think is going against me
Am I going to be able to get a credit card at all or..? I would preferably looking for one that is 0% on purchases, seen all sorts like the virgin credit card and tescos but don't want to mess up my credit report with loads of applications

Are you definitely on the electoral roll at your new address?
Do you have any credit accounts currently?
If you are on the electoral roll and don't have much credit history then usually if your own bank won't give you a card then you'll be looking at subprime cards. These are not really suitable for your purposeas the APRs are really high you really need to just use them to build up a credit history so that in 6-12months you stand a chance of getting a high street card.

That said it would still be worth getting one and then building up a credit history so that another time you need credit you could get a better rate.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
