Utterly disgusted with my audi car purchased from the monopoly dealer in belfast 3 years ago! Paid cash (big money) for something that's nackered at 90,000 miles. Mechanic is sure it's a faulty batch of heads it's 10th he's seen in area which crack. I'm checking chasis and engine no. to see if it's one of them and when confirmed they will SEE:mad: and HEAR :mad:me in their new showroom. Contact me if you have had similar problem thanks

Have you thought of posting on pistonheads? You are much more likely to get the right sort of viewers if you go into the audio specific forum....
    Always overestimating...

You might get a better response on the motoring board - unless you think the heads were put onto NI specific cars? ;)

    Hi snaps

Bought a vw passat myself 4weeks ago. I was originally looking for 05/06 model but a friend of mine in Enniskillen who is a dealer told me that there is a fault with these engines. The faulty engine number seemingly starts with the letters BK.I went to look at a passat in a showroom in Omagh and they had 3 passats lying around cause the engines had all blew up-engines all started with BK!! I ended up going for a 07 model because they changed the engine then. Hope this is some help to you.

yes 2l tdi it's head was cracked. Got 07 head to be fitted should be ok pressure tested fine. Agnew recommend i replace all 4 connecting rods aye right i think it cost me enough. According to pistonheads forum replies they may have been more generous if it had been serviced in their garage even though my mechanic is audi trained.thanks

it's 2l tdi engine guy who pressure checked head says he's seen at least 10 in the Ballymena area alone out of golfs passats and now audi.
  • I have a 2004 September 2.0 tdi dsg 140bhp automatic A3. It's a bkd engine. Is this affected as you say 2005/2006. Do you know the engine numbers this fault started with so I can check.
I am worried as I only have the car a few months and it regularly goes into limp mode. But it comes and goes. Has been fine for a few weeks now with good power. However it's like there is no turbo at times when it is not working and sometimes the engine light comes on but sometimes not. I cleaned the maf. Not sure if it dId anything cos as I say. One day the cars fine and the next it's not. The boast pressure sensor was changed ges ago by previous owner. Could it be this again.

Anyway can someone tell me the engine numbers that had faults with heads so I can check my own.
