Talk Talk

Talk Talk phoned us last night.

We had our broadband with Tiscali, and complained when Talk Talk took them over as the service was rubbish. After threatening to leave, and asking for a migration code, we got offered wireless routers free and an upgrade to our subscription free.

When they phoned last night, it was just a telesales call, asking if we'd like to purchase other accessories which would make our broadband better.

The sticky bit- for them anyway- came when the telesales asked for our personal details. My partner flatly told him that giving out personal details would only ever be handed out if he phoned Tiscali/Talk Talk.

Sales asked why, partner replied simply that it was his perogative.

Sales said without important details, they couldn't proceed.

partner said that was fine.

Sales (sounding a little desperate) said they needed to verify his details.

partner replied if they have his account details in front of them, what do they possibly need verified?

Sales asked why may partner was so suspicious of him calling.

Partner explained again.

Sales offered to prove they were Talk Talk.

Partner asked how?

Sales replied that they couldn't, not over the phone, but if he checked his account details with them, they'd be able to tell him over the phone if his account number matched what they had on their screen, and surely that would prove?

My partner was now bored, and politely ended the call. :rotfl:
