If you posted the link it would help us check. My son-in-law recently had to take a food and hygienic course for work as they have a live kitchen in the shop he works in and I know the company he works for paid for him to do an online one. Hope that helps.2008 wins

I don't know if its legit. But the company offering the courses has been established since 2000 and has a £77K credit limit...
So it seems ok but don't quote me

I would try and find out if this is a recognised qualification in the food industry. We used to teach this at my school and the test is fairly basic stuff, but if employers don't accept it you have wasted your money. Our course was certified by the local council. Anyone can offer a course in something like this, but just printing off the cert doesn't really mean anything.
Nice little earner for the cert company though. There are so many of these distance learning courses now and they are not properly accredited or regulated. Many of the IT ones which make great claims are worthless in the IT industry - there is one particular company who have a very poor reputation (can't remember the name offhand).
Do local colleges do a food hygeniene course? It would only be a day or morning session and would at least be accredited.0 -
It would be worth ringing you local Council and ask to speak to Environmental Health dept as they inspect food businesses and would poss be able to advise re courses whether they are needed or not.
HTHFind out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
did mine through work a while back, one day class- certificate came from CIEH- chartered institute of environmental health.
best done in person, rather than with ?? online..
(common sense, most of it, with a multi choice test at the end).Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
