hi there a quick question if anyone could answer id be grateful

Hi basically i get paid on Tuesday, but i have a meeting i need to travel to on Saturday. I will need about £200 for costs. My overdraft is £100 i never really use it, just this month has been genuinely hard so i went into the over draft my balance at the moment is -£99.87 or so. i tried to extend the overdraft to £300 today but got rejected. While on the phone they offered a credit card spur of the moment thing i agreed. i got rejected anyway haha (not sure why, maybe being onl 19 and on 12K a year?)

anyway my only other option is a payday loan but i would hate to do this as i know of the sh*t it could get me in.

Is there anyway i can go over my overdraft? it sounds crazy i know £5 a day. but it would only be till Tuesday 5 days.
i know i cant take money out at an atm, is there any other way?

i appreciate any answers

Steve

Is the meeting to do with work? If so, explain the situation and ask for an advance on your wages to cover the travelling expenses (presumably you will be claiming back the expenses anyway?). Alternatively ask your work to make the travel arrangements for you.

  • its an interview for another job haha so i wouldn't dare try this :P thanks for the response though. i got told to go to Tescos, buy a drink for a pound or something then try and get cashback at the self scanner machines? would this work? i wouldn't like to get rejected in Tescos it could be embarrassing :(

you are not going to get £200 cashback and even if you get some it will put you into an unauthorised overdraft and may cost you big time...I had an account that went £4 overdrawn for a day and ended up with £98 in charges (which I got back in the end)

best to ask bank of mum and dad or a mate for a sub
  • yeah whats the most cashback you can get? nah i have read the T&Cs of my account the most i can get charged is £5 a day. 5 days=£25 id be happy to pay that. Would i be able to get anything near £200? :/

i hate borrowing money of friends and family

some shops allow cashback of £50 however once it goes in the machine to communicate with your bank you may well find it just gets declined
