Advent calendar help - I need... a 24 picture photo frame!!

Ok... I had a cunning idea for the man who has everything (and a too small house to put it as it is! ) and that was a 24 picture photoframe with little pictures of our daughter - ideally with a bigger one in the middle where I was HOPING to put a hand print - then I'd cover up the pitures with numbered presents gently attached so they can be pulled off...

Now only ONE flaw to this plan... Where on EARTH can I get a photoframe like that??? Anyone got any ideas? :D

  • I've only seen ones like this with 13 apertures. Is that the sort of thing you meant?

Tranmere - that's the kinda kitten! Well maybe plainer and I don't mind if it's round, square, elephant shaped - you name it LOL I'd even settle for one without the big bit in the middle although I'd love for it to have it :)

Found a few but £70 upwards

How about a big clip frame that you could portion off yourself? Cheap and you could make your bigger bit in the middle too.

Jem - my problem is managing to make the "insert" as it were... hubby would either stumble across it or see me making it :( Small house and little room to spare... oh and I'd have little idea where to start with making the insert so the "holes" were neat in a large piece of paper or card? Ideas? (I CAN see the merit in that idea tho... I could totally decorate it home I'd want... hmmmmm)

I would buy a really big picture frame from somewhere like Wilkinsons, and then get a big paper punch (or just use a craft knife if you're better at straight lines than I am!) and some card to make a "mount" for under the glass.

Could you maybe keep it at your parents or a friend's house and work on it in secret?

Sadly I very very rarely go around friends houses - or at least when I can work on something like this... Parents live in Denmark so probably be cheaper to buy the £70+ frames than the airfare :rotfl:

I might have to just tell him that he can't peek and lock myself in the bedroom! (What WILL he think I'm up to! LOL)

  • A picture framer could cut the apertures in a mount for you but I've no idea how much they'd charge for that.

Could you maybe buy a long photo frame and cut your daughters name out of the white backing paper and fill the spaces of her name with pictures of her?
Or buy those wooden letters of her name and decorate them with pictures of her?
    ORRRRR
Asda photo machines do those collage photos of I think 12?? pictures could you do two of those and get them frames??
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together
