Hi dazzadub - Yes, assuming yor D/D payments are clearing your bills so far the consumption figures look very good, but as you say, you haven't gone thro' a winter yet.
I presume these D/Debit levels were suggested by your supplier, but these figures will only be a guess on their part and what counts is the cost of what you use a year - If your D/D's are set too low to cover the annual cost, the result is DEBT
At this time of year the bills you have had should be showing a Credit balance that will offset the cost of your increased winter Bills - The rough rule of thumb is that in winter your Elec Bills will rise by 20%, and the gas by 80%
NEVER, NEVER accept a Bill that has been Estimated, ( has an E after the closing reading), the moment you get one phone in your meter readings so a 'true' bill can be issued.
In your own interests, for this first year you should note down your meter readings monthly and note in your diary to take readings on the anniversary of your moving in date - then armed with your true annual useage you can visit the Switch sites0 -
I would say the electric looks about OK.
The gas may be a little on the low side, as you have a baby does that mean someone is home all day? It also depends on how hot you (or the baby!) like to be.
It may be better to pay an extra 5 or 10 pounds now to prevent a debit balance building up.0 -
Start reading your meters weekly, enter the readings into https://www.imeasure.org.uk
Do this for a while and you will get an idea of your costs( and carbon footprint). That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
yh someone is in the house most of the time.
we have only had the heating on 3 times for no more than a hour sinse moving in back in may. its a eco type build designed to keep heat in and cold out and we have energy saving windows etc
are last bill for the quater was gas £48 and electric £29
then £20 standing charge. we pay £25 each month on both elec and gas
we will just have to wait and see what the next bill comes in at. we hardly use heating and lady above us has hers on all day and it keeps are property at between 21-26 degress0 -
Why wait? Read your own meters. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

They look OK. But they are an estimate as you have not lived there long.0
