Keep going! I reclaimed all my money from Halifax earlier in the year. I did have to file court papers but as soon as I had done that Halifax gave in and gave me it all back. I know its tempted to take the money, I came so close to taking their second offer but I'm so glad I didn't!
Good for you for getting this far and I can wait to see your post when you get it all.Bank of Mum £10,786.00

There are standard letters on the counsumer action website in the templates. - you can accept the £700 on the understanding that you will claim the rest in court and see what they say

Right, ive gone on the CAG, and have printed off the relevant letters for the next step. But there isnt anything on there to sayIi dont want the £700.00 I want the full amount. How can I word the letter refusing it?

You might ask them to indicate which section of their terms and conditions allows them to terminate their contract with you. If they claim that it's down to persistant delinquency you ask whether this is an alternative sanction to applying charges. If it is, this is an admission of guilt and you should get the full amount back. If they cannot give you a fair reason then report them to the ombudsman, this'll cost them £360.
In your letter you can say something like:
"Thank you for your recent offer. My original claim is for the sum of £2000 and your offer is for £700 falls far short of this and is unacceptable. Therefore I have to decline your offer and I will vigourously continue with my action until my claim is met in full."[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -

Out of interest, did HSBC threaten to close your account? One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

How did you run up £2k in charges?"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

With going over my overdraft limit every month by £1.42 as a standing order came out, on the same day as other bills used to come out.
And also bad choice in boyfriend who decided to give up work, so i had to pay all bills etc. Wouldnt have been so bad but the total i got paid was £900 per month and the rent alone was £600 per month !!!!To quote my English Teacher:
