Poor mans Sat Nav.....

Staples ae giving away a PDA Route planner with orders over £39

Gift code ref 7T-70992

Its a so called "PDA" which you use with software provided to plan a route, you then d/l to the "PDA" and take it with you.

Basically a list of route instruction on a LCD screen, a bit like the old days of a piece of paper with the route instructions on!

Thing is it comes with a screen suction mount that may come in use for a real PDA or SAT Nav or mobile.

Or, depending on her level of maintenance, get the wife to have the map open on here lap and bark instructions at you for an even cheaper solution  :D . Have to say, since we got our satnav there has been a level of marital harmony on trips never before experienced. Heaven.

    Tut, tut, boys! :D

If you had any sense you'd hot-foot it down to your local Staples store and head for the clearance tables, where they are selling off discontinued Sat Nav units. The Bluemedia (Evesham) 6300 units are reduced to £90 (RRP £299) and the Cybercom (Medion) PNA150 units are marked at £90, but go through the tills at £50. Both use a Windows CE OS, so can be customised to run other Windows CE programs (incl. TomTom Navigator ;) ).

Which doesn't come cheap so kinda negates the benefit of it being cheap I'd say.
