when I used to have soya milk I had a small tub with a screw lid, I used that to carry some milk with me for cuppas.
For people coming to your house, use powdered milk.0 -
Powdered and UHT milk do taste quite different, but the majority of people will accept either of them - however my OH will only drink 'normal' milk. I think the frozen cubes are the best option in that it will be acceptable to the most people, but powdered is easiest.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

If you buy a tub of virtually fat free Coffee Mate, you can use a spoonful of that in tea or coffee. It's far more acceptable than powdered milk, and it's what I would always use if I ever find that the milk in the fridge has gone off! And it lasts for ages. You can mix a teaspoonful with a little bit of hot water before adding it to the tea if you're not sure how much to use.
ETA Oops! Sorry, Lily_the_Legend, just noticed you'd already suggested this. So much for me being original!0 -
We usually have powdered milk in our house as we use it in cooking and to make yoghurt, but we buy milk for tea and coffee as it tastes very different with powdered milk and in my oppinion ruins it, especially tea.
I like your idea of milk cubes warmed up.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

I don't expect my friends to feed me cows milk at their house so I don't expect to feed them soya at mine.
I'm happy to accommodate my friends, I just tend to forget that we don't have milk until I've poured the coffee and wonder what they are looking for!Piglet

I am in exactly the same situation but I do not use any milk be it soya or oat or whatever i just find i cannot enjoy it. In baking i just use water or omit it completely and find it works fine (bar pancakes).
I have thrown away so many 500ml boxes of milk its stupid. I like the idea of the frozen milk ice-cubes but does anyone know how long it keeps frozen?
I don't have many guests that drink fresh milk and my mum always brings some with her now.GC 2011

Of course not you have already said you are intolerant of milk.
Just don't under estimate others capacity to try and even love alternatives. They could just bring their own milk.;)Put the kettle on.0 -
I think if you freeze milk you should do it in though ice cube bags and not trays... I do that will all sorts and find it easier to store it around things in the freezer... you also don;t damamge the cubes (ie. when you pop out the cubes into a bag for storage they get battered being moved around the freezer)
I do this now with stock and wine....!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240
