i can say all i can say with this user name

    shortchanged = mug

the irony is that you accuse others but you seem to be the one that has the various user names

Join Date = July 2010, you'll be on another User Id in a couple of months...

All I can say is I have never had another user name as it is the first time I joined the site.

Yes we all have self interest at heart and that's why people will always have differing opinions.

It just what I find sad about the whole housing market business is that many genuine people who want to buy a house to LIVE in are often frozen out by the silly prices, usually caused by the greedy banks and people trying to make money from the housing market.
  • Ghouls admit there was no house price crash and there never will be, ever again. http:// www . housepricecrash . co . uk / forum /index.php?showtopic=152825

I very, very, very rarely post, but after reading your posts the last few days I feel the need to say something:

    SHUSH.
I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"

why do they have to be genuine people - is that one of the tick boxes that has to be completed when buying a property?

only genuine people can buy houses - that's a pretty good one, even for this forum

I use Bangkok_Dave name for my work pc. I wouldn't change my name to boost a thread or even start one on HPC. I don't care about house prices that much believe me.
why can't you use one user name?

Owning feels better trust me. If you want red wallpaper put it up. A dog? Get one. Maybe misguided but paying off your own mortgage feels better than somebody elses.

What I don't understand is how you can have an opinion, and because you have that opinion automatically assume everyone else must have the same opinion as you.

You enjoy owning more. You enjoy paying money on a mortgage above on rent.

I enjoy being able to move on a months notice. I'm glad I didn't lose 50% of my deposit buying in 2007 then having to sell in 2009 just so I could pink ecclesiastic wallpaper.

Some people will share your outlook, others mine and many more will have a different perspective altogether. I have no need to judge any of them as being wrong, even though I might not do the same in there place.
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...

I left home at 18, rented until I was 38, so 20 years renting, then I bought, and moved a couple of times, I'm now 51 so 13 years owning.

I moved much more often when I rented and I had kids, and they loved moving, always found it exciting and fun. In many ways I prefered it

Decorating: sure you can decorate the home you mortgage, but on the other hand you don't have to decorate the one you rent, and you can change the decor by moving to a new place

Security of tenure: yes a landlord can make you leave, so people see it as less secure, but I worry far more about my continued ability to make my mortgage payments than I ever did about paying the rent. The thought missing rental payments and having to move to a smaller less expensive rental was much less worrying to me than the thought of missing mortgage payments and being repossessed

When I moved in to my current flat, there was an identical flat down the street for rent. My plan is to not move again. My mortgage payment is slightly more than the rent, so it works out to about the same thing over the course of my life whether I buy or rent, since my mortgage runs till I'm 65, so I decided to buy and get the payments out of the way before I reach 65. I'm guessing that when I get the mortgage paid off, then I will feel much better than if I had decided to rent and was still paying rent

Just an observation... I've not been posting long, but you seem to pop up in house price threads quite a lot for someone who doesn't care about house prices.

It takes a bit of time to see through the HPC gang but they show their true colours if you read enough posts.
Most of them haven't got two bob to their names. Just bitter people wishing bad times on hardworking folks.

I know you are in the group of people I dislike. Do you work as a car park attendant?

I think so. I expect your ex wife dumped you and now you pay the CSA.:rotfl:

Bland stereotyping. I'm sure those that post on hpc are as a diverse bunch as those that post here. I've read alot of hpc posts too but have rarely come across the type of posts like the one above, which are the kind of posts, posted, by well...bitter people.:)
