Car Clamped issue

Hi Everyone
I am new here!
I have my car clamped yesterday at about 8pm. I live in a building of flats, and everyone is allocated their own parking bays. In front of the building there are two disabled car parks which are occasionally used by everyone to drop off things and parking.
I always make sure I park in my allocated bays, as I dont want to get clamped!
But yesterday I came from shopping and wasn't feeling well while I was driving so I just parked the car in the disabled car park (I am not a disabled badge holder). I went upstairs to lie down for few minutes. After ten mins I went downstairs (feeling OK) and saw my car wheel were getting clamped, I asked the man to stop and listen as I was not feeling well, but he was too rude. I tried to explain him that I parked for only 10 mins because I wasn't able to go and park in my bay.
He said you need to pay 250 pounds, and he took away the car. I called the company (Park Direct Limited) and they said I have to pay 320 pounds to release my clamp.

Sorry for the long story it just came out of frustration!
Can anyone suggest what should I do, currently I am unemployed and don't have money to pay the release fees. Please help!

Thanks in advance

Im afraid you will have to pay to get it back, but on the up side you should be able to get it back via small claims but you will need to sue both the landowner / landlord / or person that contracted the clampers and the clampers so you are'nt going to get your money back overnight im afraid.

  • How did you pay? I hope it was credit/visa debit card as this gives you another way of recouping your money. You will find the c/c company will act up and say you approved it so ya boo to you. You will have to keep going up a level until you get there.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
