You need an svideo lead (4 pin to 4 pin). You can also get svid to scart or even a scart box that has an svid port on it...
s to s should cost around 3 to 5 quid, the scart types anything up to 10 to 12.0 -
Just looked again my TV doesn't actually have an s-video port. I have a digital audio port and a 'ANT' obviously for the ariel. Looks like its the s-video to the scart it is. Do you know a good place to buy one?0

eBay's usually good for this type of lead. Bare in mind that s-video doesn't include audio so ideally get one which has scart on one end and s-video PLUS an audio jack on the other (assuming you don't want to listen to it through your laptop's speakers!).
Something like this:

Ooh, just had another thought you might want to check (TV manual) that the TV supports s-video through the SCART socket, if not you'll get a black and white picture!0 -
Woooh there your scart will probably not accept SVIDEO! This is a feature found in some sets but was not part of the scart specification and was only found on newer, maybe cheaper sets (too cheap to add seperate socket!).biged670 wrote:Just looked again my TV doesn't actually have an s-video port. As I flick through my AV channels I have AV1, AV2 F-AV, RGB, SVHS. Does that mean anythin to you guys?0

It is really simple.
If you have a scart on your TV (and you do looking at your posts) then use something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-NEW-SCART-ADAPTOR-AV-COMPOSITE-S-VIDEO-TO-SCART_W0QQitemZ150044081119QQihZ005QQcategoryZ15067QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Another way if you have composite connection on your TV (most TVs will have them - they are the Video-In, Audio-in (left) and Audio-In (right) then you can use something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HQ-S-VIDEO-to-COMPOSITE-CABLE-1-5m-DVD-TV-CABLE_W0QQitemZ220033405542QQihZ012QQcategoryZ32837QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Hope this helps.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
S-video connections aren't usually found on the back of tv's, generally they are used for video cameras so are positioned either on the side of the set behind a flap or on the front at the bottom of the set.0

In that case your tv should facilitate an SVID input either through the small din plug (should be labeled SVHS / SVID) or thru scart!
try the tv manufactorers website or ring for tech support?
@Aiadi That 'box' you refer to is no better than the lead at top of post it does NOT convert a signal from SVID to whatever it just routes it thru to the appropriate pins on a compatible scart connector! please don't assume It will work properly on all scart sockets!0 -
Cheers fellas0
