Hi I've got the fm 2010 game and I've uploaded 2010 updates for the game of a disc, but I'm not sure how I go about using the updates now that they are uploaded-I want to be Stevenage as they are my local team but at the moment they are in not in league 2 but surely they would be on the up dates.
Also the game seems incredably slow at times -especially when processing-I've got an Acer Aspire 5051 AWXMI laptop I was wondering is this computer not big enough to take all the downloads-thanks for an help.

Assuming you mean Sport Interactive's Football Manager 2010, once you've downloaded the newest patch (currently on 10.3), you will need to start a new game. One of the very 1st options available to you when starting a new game is to select which database you wish to use, so just select 10.3 from the options.
As for the speed issues it could be down to a number of things. Having quickly browsed the spec it seems like a decent enough laptop, similar in spec to my Dell which runs the game fine.
How many leagues do you have playable? I generally run 3-4 countries, say England, Spain, Italy + Germany with a small database, perhaps with one or two extra nations' players loaded. If you're trying to run loads of playable leagues and/or a large database then you will suffer from slow performance.
If this is not applicable to you then it could simply be other programs that are slowing your laptop down in general, rather than specifically the game. Try Ctrl+Alt+Del and see whats running in the background, and turn off anything you don't need.
For specific FM help I would recommend browsing the FM-Base forum at https://www.fm-base.co.uk - lots of FMers in there who know their stuff!0 -
Also when you start a new game (not a quick game), you choose the lowest league. So choose Conference, and they're there0
