how to get laminate flooring up

Hi everyone, I bought my house and there is laminate flooring in the hallways. I have to take this up and then after re-fit it....

How on earth do i get it up??

I've removed the strips between floor and skirting boards and tried every tool i an find in every edge and nothing is budging!!

Help!!

On one side of the hall there is a long straight side, on the other is more the more fiddly side with cutting ours for doorway, so i was assuming that they would have done the long side last...but the fiddly side has wonky sawing, so did they lay that bit last??

No idea what to do!!!

J

You would only be able to lift it and re fit it if its a 'click' system. If its a glued tongue and groove then you'll wreck it when you lift it.

Olias, this is good info, i half managed to get one piece up a bit, then though i am probably in the wrong place though stopped, however it does apear to be tongue and groove.

whch means the whole jon is a lot easier!!!! i dont have to try and preserve anymore.....

any ideas on how much it will be for 5 square m of laminate later on??

    any other ideas anyone??

trying to refit laminate is almost impossible.
i wouldnt even bother trying. just wreck it and buy some new stuff. it aint that expensive.
from 4 quid per sq metre.

the tongues are pretty fragile. the chances of getting it all up, undamaged, and being able to relay it, are very small.
    you have been lucky.

Just an update, laminate went back down again, one tiny piece of damage (fixed with superglue) and one piece had to be cut to get it to fit again (no idea how the previous owners got that in in the first place. So a success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    you have been lucky.

Managed to lift and relay an entire dinning room twice due to central heat pump failure with no problems. You just have to be careful.
