Hi,

Hope someone can help me. I bought a cd on itunes and tried to download it. It says that I have 102 downloads available (under downloads tab) (cd consists of 101 songs) but when I click on it it always comes as 'unable to check for available downloads. Itunes store is temporarily unavailable'. Now, itunes store is available, i have no problem with it. I bought the cd yest and tried it on 2 different computers to download but the same msg comes up.

If i go into my account settings, it says that i have 102 downloads availabe as well and when I click on download now than it access itunes store for 10 seconds than doesn't do anything.

Anyone can help me? I contacted itunes but it takes 48 hours to receive an email from them. Thanks

P.s: i have the latest itunes (10.0.1) installed.

  • I've experienced this problem for years, on more than one pc. Did some searching online and looks like we aren't the only ones with this problem. I contacted itunes support when I first got the problem and didn't get much help at all. Please let me know if you get this resolved. I'm thinking its either a firewall issue or something odd with our itunes account.

Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. I am Vishnu and I will be glad to assist you today.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't connect to the iTunes Store.I can certainly see how disappointing this could be. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience you've experienced.

Ildiko, I have verified that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections, which indicates that the issue is related to your internet connection, local network, or your local computer itself. This article outlines some of the likely culprits:

This is the reply I got from them. I still can't download it and I paid £13 which I'm not prepared to lose. I'm going to ask them to refund the transaction- if I can't download than it's not use for me. I have proper internet connection, no problem with that one, and no problem with my computer itself as I purhased and bought movies from itunes a week ago and worked perfectly.

Lots of people have this problem, although Apple are reluctant to list it on their support pages. The general advice is to call/email them and ask them to "re-queue" your purchases i.e reset your download queue - they will delete the pending downloads and add them again. You should then be able to download them.

  • I know it's a slightly different issue but I clicked on the wrong album when downloading. I contacted Apple and they did refund the incorrect album purchase but I'm still waiting for the money to come through.

I asked them to re-queue the songs but no reply, ask them for refund as well, they got back to me that my payment is still processed and that I should apply for refund next week. Let's hope the saga will end soon. Lesson learnt: buy a cd for the same price on amazon and upload it manually on itunes.

Update on this: they re-queued the songs but still wasn't able to download them so they refunded my order, money received on my account on Monday.
