Hi there
wrote off to a number of companies earlier this week for an estimation for the cost of replacing approx 20 windows with hardwood wooden windows in a traditional casement style (for mid 19th century cottage) We're based in Cheshire.
Smallest window 600x900, Average size of windows 120x100, largest window 150x130 (cm)
One quote came back £14k which excluded glass and ironmongery (?!)
One quote came back £25k
Is around £20/25k pretty much what we can expect?

Were these quotes given after visiting you and measuring up and discussing the various options with you? If not I would suggest you get some companies in to produce an accurate quote otherwise it may change considerably.
Only once you have various quotes will you have an idea what is 'average' for costs and you will have an idea regarding quality of fixtures and fittings."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
My brother-in-law has his own joinery business based in Lower Stretton. I'm not sure you're allowed to advertise, so I'll pm you his details and you can give him a ring if you wish.0

If you're not already sorted there's a company based in Manchester who are highly recommended on this site. They are mentioned in the post about cat flaps in glazed panels in this forum.0
