Hi all,
I'm currently on the look out for a complete sound system. Currently my set-up consists of a Sony 36' TV (KV36FS70), SKY+, Multi-region DVD (Toshiba - cannot remember the model right now!!) and PS2.
I'm using the surround sound speakers that came as standard with the TV however I'd now like to get a complete package.
I don't mind getting seperates or an all in one system.
Ideally I'd like to spend under £500 all in.
I'd like to get something decent however I know my budget is not the highest!!
I'm a little dazed and confused by the whole Home Cinema thing and would appreciate any advice anyone can offer!!
Many thanks for your time

Have a look at Richer Sounds. They have one in Kingston and have a demo room.0

yes, richer sounds is a good place to go.
for that sort of money i would recommend getting a cambridge audio AVR (540R)
http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=CAMB-AZUR540R-SIL
as it has lots of connections and you will be able to add on more equipment when you get it.
I would then buy the best speaker package you can afford with the remaining money - best thing to do is pay them a visit and get them to set up a few packages so you can hear the differences for yourself.0 -

You have three things to buy:
1. Amp
2. Speakers
3. Cables
Work out what connections your require: do all three boxes have digital out?
What size of room do you have?
Do you want 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 speaker setup?
Have you considered 2nd hand equipment. avforums has a good sales forum.StuCha wrote:I'm a little dazed and confused by the whole Home Cinema thing and would appreciate any advice anyone can offer!!
Buy separates.
Read avforums.
Some equipment manufacturers come with a two year warranty.0
