Bank Charges from Natwest

Hi
I sent a letter to Natwest on the 28th September (the 1st letter to reclaim my charges) asking them to respond to me in the next 14 days, which would be this Thursday.
I have received a letter todat from the Complaints Dept confirming that they will respond to me on the 18th October, whic is nearly a week over the time slot that I gave them to respond.
Are they trying to use delaying tactics, and should I issue them with a further letter?
Thanks

Let them know who's running this show - ignore their timetable and stick to your own. You've sent off your preliminary letter, now get your LBA ready to post on Thursday. And then, two weeks later, it's off to MCOL.0 -
Hi Karrina,
I should say straight away that I don't know the answer to your question - sorry. I am also trying to send a letter to Nat West for the same reason, please can you let me know what address you used? I can't find one anywhere and am reluctant to hand a letter to my branch in case it gets ignored. Thanks alot, sal08020 -
Not even on the NatWest website under 'contact us'?Sal0802 wrote:I can't find one anywhere...0 -
Hi
The address I used was that for my local brach. The letter I have received back was from the Customer Lending Centre in Brighton.
I called them and requested a copy of the statements over the telephone, the charge was £5.00. When they asked why I wanted them, I just said that I needed them for a mortgage.
What is an LBA? Sorry, cannot find any info no it!0 -

Have a look at this site:

It's absolutely brilliant. I learned how to do it by reading their forum and then by copying the letters from the Bank Templates Library section. It's really good to know that everybody is in the same boat, you're not on your own. And if you have a question, there's always somebody to answer it for you.
(and, to answer your question, an LBA is Letter Before Action ie before you go to court)
Good luck with your claim!0
