Really would avoid a Bank of Ireland cashback credit card

I took out the Amex one earlier this year as it has the best cashback rates but as not everywhere accepts Amex, I took out a Bank of Ireland Moneyback credit card in the summer, and I regret doing it:
- Unlike Amex the ID process was cumbersome and I had to pay £5 simply to get my ID confirmed at the Post Office
- Unlike Amex it doesn't come with an online account so I have to either call up and wait for half an hour every time, or wait once a month for a postal statement, to see what's going on with the account
- Whenever another company needs proof of ID this gets rejected with the Bank of Ireland credit card
- Bank of Ireland has repeatedly messed up my security details to the point where when I phone up they ask me for my mother's maiden name and I have to tell them that they're not supposed to ask me this
- Bank of Ireland fined me £12 for non-payment even though I set up a direct debit to pay off in full every month with them
- When I called up to complain about the above, mid-way through the complaint they began asking me security questions, the first one my mother's maiden name, when I told them they shouldn't ask me this, the second was 'do you have a direct debit with us?'
I cant believe how amateurish they've been!

Why should they not ask you, your mothers maiden name ?
because, for some reason, the name that they have down as my mother's maiden name is not my actual mother's maiden name, and they cant tell me the name that they have got!
The first time I called them this problem arose and I was told that as a result I would never be asked this question again. And all that meant is that everytime I call them I go through this process during security:
BoI: What is your mother's maiden name?
Me: I know what her name is but it's not what you have down there and I dont know what you have down there. I think you'll find there's a note there that says you're meant to ask me something else.
BoI: No, there's no note.
Me: I think if you look at the bottom of the form?
BoI: Oh yes.0 -
Surely once you get past the security checks they will change the maiden name they have for you.0
