Ebay and postage costs

Hi Op, there is something I am not quite getting here. You said you bought 10 items and that she normaly charges £1.60 pet item, so where does the £29 you stated come from as thats only £16.
The other point being that she then sent a compined invoice to you for £17.50, that to me works out at only £6.50 postage with the £11 cost of goods. It sounds to me like your total bill was £29 and she gave you a £12 p+p discount. Am I wreading it wrong?

I had a similiar problem (a rare one). Did not clarify the combined postage discount (just had confirmation he would combine) before winning multiple auctions with the same seller and afterwards the seller didn't reduce the postage by much. I complained to ebay by phone as he had charged 200% of cost of postage at least, and the seller and I agreed to withdraw from the auctions, so no money lost. It did make me fume a bit at the time, but didn't lose anything. Within a few days I bought the same items for half the price. And hopefully ebay will know there is a seller who tends to overcharge on postage and the buyer will rethink his policy. I made references to ebay's 'fair and reasonable' postage charge policy everywhere lol.

Yeh I'm also confused! I read it the same. if you were expecting £5 p&p and they offered you £6.50 p&p that's not so bad.

You have to remember it's postage AND packaging.

I charged £2.30 to pack and post a toy. I got a negative feedback threat because the postage stamp said £1.73 or so.
Never mind the quality jiffy bag and the tape that I bought to pack it in, and never mind my fuel and time to get it to the post office.

I don't sell very often. So when I actually listed a few things at once, I didn't know HOW to add a combined postage to a listing as a seller. I never offered the discount, and got whinged at for not combining postage. Buyer should have read the description before bidding.
I couldn't actually do an invoice for a lesser amount as the seller.

Quit your jibberjabber.

You should bear your buyers criticisms in mind, otherwise you will find it difficult to keep your head above water. I'd rather people were happy with what I charged, even if it involves some sleight of hand or slight increase in the fees I pay to eBay. Making the effort to find out how to refund part of the postage through Paypal is better than, essentially, telling your buyers to "s** off" like you're currently doing.
