Foundation stains on clothes any ideas please?

Hi

Can anyone help please.

My DD has got foundation on her new white school shirt. I found a similar old thread and have tried the recomendations, it has faded slightly, but not removed much of it.

Tried so far

Ace laundry bleach
vanish oxy powder
bicarb & vinegar
Stain slayer-removes oil based stains
lemon & salt

These have all been done on a 40 degree wash

Any other ideas please? All sugestions gratefully received

Thanks

Just normal white soap, rub it on til the stain has gone.

I've never done this, but how about rubbing in some washing up liquid, then washing as normal?

Washing up liquid is good for greasy marks, so if it is oil based foundation it wouldn't hurt;)

    Thanks all

Going to put it back in now

I think stardrops might be worth a try aswell

It was expensive for a school shirt as its a M&S fashion one so will have to save it somehow. I will let you know what works

    Thanks again:)

I got foundation on a white cotton maternity shirt when I was in early pregnancy with dd1. Just a tiny little blob, but tried absolutely everything to get it out - suggestions from here, all my usual stain treatments, even bleach.

Now nearly full term with second pregnancy and it has been washed tons of times since then and I can still see that little blob grrrrrr. It is the only stain that has eluded me except for the time my little angel drew on her clothes with black permanent marker pen :rolleyes:

Oh, lucky you! Wish I'd had some stardrops back then when it first happened. Think mine is well and truly set now

    Hi purplepatch

Hairspray is great for permanent marker, I got some out of a t-shirt the other day with it.

Try the stardops and soap, its worth a go I had previously washed the shirt quite a few times trying everything I could think of, I too thought perhaps it was too late. Just to add I put the stardrops on the toothbrush first and rubbed it to foam it just in case the yellow stained the shirt.

Good luck hope it works for you.

Now how do I train my DD not to be so messy.........

Thanks zippy, will give it a try. Hopefully not going to wear it too many more times though, although was planning to sell on ebay as part of a bundle - no more babies after this one!!! The marker pen top was past salvaging, went straight in the bin. Was completely smothered, as was her hands and tummy

As for your final question, I'm afraid I can't help with that one - just removing homemade playdough out of the living room carpet!!!
