My daughter got a parking ticket whilst waiting for a friend to finish work. she was there 26 and did not leave her car. Signs are not lit at night (when she was photographed there) and the main sign is partly hidden by overgrown trees. I sent them these pics and said im not paying as it was dark and she didnt see the signs, got a letter today saying its now £135.00 if not paid will go to there solicitors. But on letter it says "your ability to obtain credit in the future may be affected if we have to take this matter to our soloicitors for further action". Is this correct and true?? Julie

Please look at all the posts on here regarding ukpc etc and you will see that they cannot affect your credit unless they take you to court and win. As thay almost never take anyone to court you will see its all threat and bluster.
You have not got a FINE its just an univited invoice which you are quite entitled to ignore.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
First of all, read some other posts on this forum including the stickies etc.
I'm assuming this is a ticket from a private parking company, not a local council?
That being so it's not a "fine" but an "invoice" and an entirely unenforceable / unrecoverable invoice at that. Ignore their letters, don't correspond with them any further.
It can only affect your credit rating if they take you to court for non-payment which they will not do! I know you won't be reassured by just me saying this, so read the other threads all on the same topic!0 -
In a nutsell, no.
Do not contact them again, do not send them any money.
You will get a chain of scary letters from debt collectors, even so called solicitors.0 -
Thanks guys i have read a lot of the threads but just thought i would clarify it. Iam certainly not paying it!0

It's not a fine, it's an unenforceable invoice.
It's a scam.
Ignore them and their junkmail and they will eventually give up.0
