Legal Aid - can you get legal aid if you are not on benefits?

My contact case with my daughter has so far cost me £10,000 and is due to cost at least another £5,000.00

My solicitor has just asked for money on account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering whether I would be entitiled to legal aid - I own a house which I rent out but do not have very much income.

legal aid is based on earnings not benefits.
if you have less then ££650 a month after rent and council tax and other priority bills then you will qualify i had to do same thing

Bear in mind that (I think) the rental income you get from the property will count as income as well as any emplyment earnings you get.

Thanks at the moment - my current earnings are from the property I rent out £470.00 pcm.

I live with a friend and rent my house out!

Yet when I fill the calculator in - it says as I have assets then I am not eligible - however if I lived in the house then I would be! Is that right?
