Unknown Insurance Refund on Bank Statement??

Hi,
I don't know if this is a scam or not... I've logged onto my online banking this morning and a £480 item is showing going into the account with the reference 'Insurance Refund'. I'm not expecting any insurance refunds, especially of this amount! Is this some sort of scam??
Anybodies advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks.

Do you bank with Barclays? If you do I will explain all.0

Hi iblametheparents,
Its actually HSBC, but its not even my main account and hasn't been for about 18 months so I haven't even used it to pay for some insurance in that time to be entitled to a refund.
If I was with Barclay's what would the likely reason be? Perhaps it is the same with HSBC?
Thanks.0 -
Well Barclays have started refunding money to people who have had duplicated cover in a home insurance policy and in a fee-paying current account.0

HI, I was just wondering if you found out what this refund was/who it was from? Only, I have just checked my account online and I have also received one, googled it and found this thread! I have called my bank and they say because it only went into my account today they cannot tell me where it has come from until tomorrow when they have run off the reports or something, all they can say is it was a bacs.

Could you please explain the Barclays refund thing if you have their home insurance cover and also a fee paying current account as I think I would qualify but have not heard anything
Thanks in advance
