HELP!!Computer crashed...

My PC used to duel-boot,I had the option of win7 or vista,I installed Zone Alarm as my license had run out, when the PC re-booted it went straight into Vista and ' hung' saying it was 'preparing the desktop' and never budged, now I can't access Win 7,and the duel boot option has gone,I managed to get Vista going, but it seems to have gone back intime!!!How can I get my duel boot option back,or more importantly how do I access my Win 7 operating system on the other partition,as that has ALL my important stuff on it.Many Thanks...:(

download easy abc bootloader from here http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 install and follow instructions
  • Alternatively change the boot ini file. If you do manage to get Vista going you could run up Msconfig (type into the Run box). Once running choose the Boot OS you want in advance options

I'm confused why anyone would want to dual boot 7 and vista..... the mind boggles.

Because if I had not,I would not be on here,I used it as a 'fail safe' and it works,I had the option so I used it.It's Zone Alarm thats screwed it.

Trouble is,Vista is the only one listed,my Win7 op system is there, but not on that list in Msconfig.

Glad you fixed it ,Another option to get at the boot files when windows boot system dies is a linux live disc.An operating system on a cd is something that can be vital. If you aint got duel boot
