driver hit me in rear causing me to hit driver infront in rear?

Advice appreciated for a friend.

"The driver behind me hit me in the rear causing me to hit driver infront of me in the rear"

What is the likely outcome of this?

Will my insurance premium rise and will it count as my fault?

Thanks

Please ask your friend to check with his insurance company first , but any shunt from behind , regardless of the reason is the responsibility of the driver that caused it .:)

SORRY , what if drivers infront were both on same policy?

Makes no difference - if you have comprehensive cover you should contact your own insurers about getting your own damage sorted. They will then recover from the guilty party. You will need to contact your broker who will then ensure that they help you recover any uninsured losses like your excess or any injuries.

Many of the opinions expressed here will be based on limited information and may not be suitable solutions for all. My strong advice will usually be to seek a professional opinion from a quality insurance broker. See BIBA for a local professional member.

    Not entirely true.

If negligence or causation can be proven of the driver in front (they cut in front of you then slam on their brakes for example) then liability may legitimately be disputed.
