Ok I know its random but got into a real "debate" with oh yesterday and he thinks that its a clicking thing - so each time we all click on a link MSE gets paid, I was in uproar & offence at such an idea! I can see hoe Martin probably makes a living, but what about the others??
Ok really hoping someone will indulge me

As I understand it, the "others" are employed by Martin.
Martin often [STRIKE]advertises[/STRIKE], whoops posts any vacancies he may be looking to fill from time to time on this site."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Have a look at this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/site/moneysavingexpert-finance
Essentially it is from clicking, but the advice is not biased by the clicking revenue.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I would imagine they are employed by a limited company, not by Martin per se.
determined, your friend is correct about the links, but the exposure this site brings for Martin Lewis is more than adequate to pay a few staff.
Gone ... or have I?0 -

Perhaps.
This website used to be operated through a limited company, but that changed mid 2008. It's now a private unlimited company - a relatively rare type."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Martin finances this whole enterprise from his personal savings, and pays his associates from his own pocket.0

We also regularly put it prominently in the weekly email (and its always in the email footer) - and we asterix any link that is affiliated with an explanation at the bottom of every page.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
