The official Hip Scoring Scheme is run jointly by the BVA and KC. You would need the dogs KC details and prob best to ring them up. I doubt you will find them online anywhere although I could be wrong.
  • thank you, i will call in morning its just that i have looked at a puppy and i wuld like to look into the line to see if they have hip scored and if so what they were iykwim?? thanks anyway

They are available on The Kennel Club website. You need a dog's full KC-registered name or Studbook number.

"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • It's the registration number you need, or the KC name.

For border collies at least the system has trouble with dual registered dogs (ISDS and KC) so won't accept their KC name but if you google the KC name then often you find their registration number with DNA test or eye test results ad that will work. That could be the same for some other situations just in case you run into problems.

If you ask to see the KC pedigrees of the parents, the hipscores should be shown there.

A good breeder will show you these without being asked - also elbow scores and eye-test results.

If you know the KC name of the !!!!!, you can find out whether or not she has been endorsed by her breeder "not for breeding" - in which case the puppies can't be KC-registerered.

Good breeders generally put endorsement restriction on puppies until they have been hi/elbow scored.....

Personally If you have any worries about a breeder I would walk away.`Also have you seen results of any eye testing as Border Collies should really have these also.
